How to do fraction

                Multiplication and Division of Fractions

In this blog we are going to learn how to do fraction with examples. Here I am going to give you how  to do fraction with two types of fractions solved examples. Also see the given link to know about how to convert fractions as well as how to compare fractions.
A fraction of a number is a part of a whole or a part of a collection of things.

When three friends share a chocolate bar equally,
All of them will get one third.
The numerator 1 tells us that each friend gets one part.
The denominator 3 tells us that the bar is cut into three equal parts. Here is some solving fraction exampls.

Multiplication of Fractions: -
And let’s multiply the fractions to find their product.
There are 3 simple steps to follow

Step 1: -

Multiply the numerators

And let’s multiply the fractions to find their product.
There are 3 simple steps to follow
We get 6 in the numerator

    2    x    3    =     6
   ---        ---        -----
    5          4          20

Step 2: -

Multiply the denominators

We get 20 in the denominator

     2          3           6
    ----      ----        ----
     5     x    4     =   20

Step 3: -

Simplify the fraction to its lowest terms
  6            6 ¸ 2            3
----  =     -------   =      ---
20           20 ¸ 2          10

The product of the given fractions is the fraction 3 by 10
    2/5    x    3/4   =    3/10

Division of Fractions: -

Step 1: -

Find the reciprocal of the divisor and convert ¸ to x

12/7  x   8/9

Step 2: -

Multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction

12/7  x   8/9  =   ----
12/7   ¸  9/8  = 96/63

Step 3: -

Simplify the fraction to its lowest terms

96        96  ¸  3         32
---  =   -----------  =  -----
63        63 ¸  3          21

12/7  ¸  9/8  =  32/21
Next time we will learn about adding Fractions and subtracting fraction solved examples.
